Shih Tzu Mix    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Courtney is a 9 year old beautiful Cream and Charcoal Shih Tzu Mix who weighs 10 pounds. This darling little girl is in our rescue because she ended up in the shelter and her owner never came to claim her so rescue was called. This poor little girl was very matted and unkempt but otherwise in good shape. Now Courtney is all cleaned up, had her teeth cleaned and ready for her new loving forever home. Our vet noted that Courtney has a very slight heart mur mur with no medicine indicated. Courtney is easy going taking in everything around her plays with the other foster dogs in her area and this sweet little girl loves to be held. Since she ... (Read More)gets along with other dogs another dog in the home would work well with Courtney. She would also be good as an only dog and would do very well with a retired person or couple who have lots of time to spoil this darling little girl. At Courtney's foster home she has learned to use a doggy door that goes out into a large secure decking area to play and potty and is doing very well but we never say one of our rescue dogs is potty trained just because they are doing good at their foster home. When placed into her new home further training will be needed. The dogs at Courtney's foster home do not have the run of the house but are cordoned off into a good sizel area with access to a doggy door. We like our rescue dogs and puppies to be placed into homes where someone is home during the day and consideration will be given to those homes first. All of PJ's Small Dog Rescue puppies and dogs are indoor dogs with outside potty and play privileges. Please click on our name PJ's Small Dog Rescue at he bottom of Courtney's page for further information about our rescue, policies and fees. PLEASE NOTE we are NOT a SHELTER, we are a RESCUE so we don't have a facility for you to come and visit our rescue dogs and puppies as all the dogs in our care are in foster homes. After your adoption questionnaire is approved, you will be invited to come and meet the rescue dog or puppy you are interested in for possible adoption. If you are interested in Courtney you must call or EMAIL us for required adoption questionnaire and one will be emailed back to you (email link for our rescue is at the bottom of Courtney's page). If you are a renter, please have a letter ready at time of adoption from your landlord giving you permission to have a dog. If you already have a dog then it must state you can have more than one dog. Also, it is our policy to not place our small rescue dogs and puppies into homes with large breed dogs but this is on a case by case basis. All of our adoptions are in person so if you are unable to come to Isleton, California for an adoption we will not be able to assist you in adopting one of our rescue dogs.     Camo is a 2 year old beautiful red camouflage color Dachshund who weighs 9 1/2 pounds. This darling little boy was taken for a vet by a good Samaritan to be put down because either another dog or a car accident tore the right side of Camo's face off. You can just look at his camouflage markings to know where his name came from and the kind vet was the one who named him and she decided to try to save this darling little boy's life. Three weeks later Camo's face was fully healed and happily the ... (Read More)stitches have been removed and he is now ready for his new loving forever home. Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Jedi is a 1 year old beautiful charcoal Poodle who weighs 7 1/2 pounds. This darling little boy is in our rescue because he ended up in the shelter and his owner never came to claim him so rescue was called. This poor little guy was very matted and had sores caused by the mats pulling his skin but was otherwise in pretty good condition. At first when Jedi entered our rescue he wasn't too sure about having other dogs in his space but has now settled into the routine of being with other dogs. Jedi is a loving little boy who now has gained confidence that bad things aren't looking at him around every corner. Jedi now gets along with other ... (Read More)small dogs his size and around his age but it is obvious he was not used to being around other dogs so being an only dog will probably be the best for him. He will do well with a retired person or couple who have lots of time to spoil this darling little boy. He will not be placed in a home with children because he really is a dainty little boy but visiting grandchildren under supervision should be just fine. At Jedi's foster home he has learned to use a doggy door that goes out into a large secure decking area to play and potty. When inside he uses newspapers to potty on but of course, further potty training in a new home will be needed. We like our rescue dogs and puppies to be placed into homes where someone is home during the day and consideration will be given to those homes first. All of PJ's Small Dog Rescue puppies and dogs are indoor dogs with outside potty and play privileges. Please click on our name PJ's Small Dog Rescue at he bottom of Jedi's page for further information about our rescue, policies and fees. If you are interested in Jedi you must call or EMAIL us for required adoption questionnaire and one will be emailed back to you (email link for our rescue is at the bottom of Jedi's page). Thank you for your interest in adopting one of PJ's Small Dog Rescue dogs or puppies. (Less)
