Rescue Me ID: 15-02-24-00426Peabody (male)

Shih Tzu    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Peabody is a 2 year old beautiful White and Champagne soft coated Shih Tzu who weighs 16 1/2 pounds. Peabody is in our rescue because his family could not longer care for him so rescue was called. Peabody is a sweet loving little boy who gets along with other dogs so another dog in the home will work well with him. Peabody will do well in a home with children who are 7 years old and older where there is an adult home during the day. He will also do well with a retired person or couple who have lots of time to spoil this darling little boy. Peabody is in a dog area at his foster home where he has access to a doggy door and he is doing ... (Read More)very well but of course training will be needed at his new loving forever home. At night he also has access to potty pads. Just because a rescue dog is doing well at their foster home has no bearing on what they will do at their new home so training will be needed. We like our rescue dogs and puppies to be placed into homes where someone is home during the day and consideration will be given to those homes first. All of PJ's Small Dog Rescue puppies and dogs are indoor dogs with outside potty and play privileges. Please click on our name PJ's Small Dog Rescue at he bottom of Peabody's page for further information about our rescue, policies and fees. PLEASE NOTE we are NOT a SHELTER, we are a RESCUE so we don't have a facility for you to come and visit our rescue dogs and puppies as all the dogs in our care are in foster homes. After your adoption questionnaire is approved, you will be invited to come and meet the rescue dog or puppy you are interested in for possible adoption. If you are interested in Peabody you must EMAIL or call us for required adoption questionnaire and one will be emailed back to you (email link for our rescue is at the bottom of Peabody's page). If you are a renter, please have a letter ready at time of adoption from your landlord giving you permission to have a dog. If you already have a dog then it must state you can have more than one dog. Also, it is our policy to not place our small rescue dogs and puppies into homes with large breed dogs but this is on a case by case basis. All of our adoptions are in person so if you are unable to come to Isleton, California for an adoption we will not be able to assist you in adopting one of our rescue dogs. Thank you for your interest in adopting one of PJ's Small Dog Rescue dogs or puppies. (Less)

Chihuahua Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Nicci is a 7 month old beautiful Charcoal with White Chihuahua/Dachshund (Chiweenie) mix puppy who weighs 6 pounds. Nicci is in our rescue because she and another little puppy were running the streets and in order for them not to have to be taken to the shelter, rescue was called. Unfortunately, the day after entering our rescue the other puppy came down with Parvo and lucky little Nicci did not come down with it. Nicci will do well with a retired person or couple who have lots of time to spoil and loves this darling tiny girl. Potty training will be needed but right now in her foster home she is using newspapers in her puppy area and ... (Read More)doing very well. Nicci is too tiny to be placed in a home with children under 12 years old but an all adult home where there is someone home during the day would be ideal. Supervised visiting children will be just fine. This little girl has a personality that is special and so endearing and anyone who is lucky enough to adopt our Nicci girl will truly be very lucky indeed. We like our rescue dogs and puppies to be placed into homes where someone is home during the day and consideration will be given to those homes first. Animal ID: EllieEllie (female)

Pomeranian Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Ellie is a 2 year old beautiful Cream White Pomeranian/Pekingese Mix who weighs 12 pounds. She is in our rescue because she was taken to a vet to be put down because her owner was ill and could no longer care for her. The vet had her sign Ellie over to him and rescue was sought for her. So Ellie enter our rescue but the vet neglected to tell us that Ellie has separation anxiety and needs to be a home where someone is home most or all the time. After working with Ellie for weeks she accepted that it was okay to not have her person in her sight 24/7 but this is still an issue for her. Poor Ellie would howl a high pitched sound when she ... (Read More)felt insecure when left a lone and after being in rescue for a few weeks the insecurity lessened but is still a problem for this darling little girl. So we decided to move her to another foster home and now it isn't as bad as when she first came into our rescue but once again she had to be reassured that all was well in her new environment. We are sharing this about Ellie because she will need much reassurance in her new loving forever home. She wants to be with her person, not necessary on a lap but touching is what she loves the most. Ellie will do well in a home as an only dog but at her foster homes she has adjusted to having other dogs there too. This little girl is adjusting and will make someone with patience a very nice little dog. Ellie will do well with a retired person or couple who have lots of time to spoil, train and love this darling baby girl. She would also do well with a disabled person who is home all the time and just wants a loving companion. Ellie will not be placed in a busy home with children coming and going. We like our rescue dogs and puppies to be placed into homes where someone is home during the day and consideration will be given to those homes first. All of PJ's Small Dog Rescue puppies and dogs are indoor dogs with outside potty and play privileges.
