Shih Tzu    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Clarence is a 4 year old beautiful Black and White Shih Tzu who weighs 11 pounds. Clarence is in our rescue because his owner passed away and the family could not keep him. Clarence was terribly matted and full of fleas and foxtails so we had to have him shaved down and now he is more comfortable. Clarence will do well with a retired person or couple who have lots of time to love and spoil this darling little boy. He gets along with other small dogs and his favorite thing is to be loved. Such a cute little guy who is happy and well adjusted. Carter uses the doggy door at his foster home to go out into a large secure decking area to play ... (Read More)and potty. We never say that one of our rescue dogs is potty trained but Clarence is doing very well at his foster home. We like our rescue dogs and puppies to be placed into homes where someone is home during the day and consideration will be given to those homes first. All of PJ's Small Dog Rescue puppies and dogs are indoor dogs with outside potty and play privileges. Please click on our name PJ's Small Dog Rescue at he bottom of Clarence's page for further information about our rescue, policies and fees. PLEASE NOTE we are NOT a SHELTER, we are a RESCUE so we don't have a facility for you to come and visit our rescue dogs and puppies as all the dogs in our care are in foster homes. After your adoption questionnaire is approved, you will be invited to come and meet the rescue dog or puppy you are interested in for possible adoption. If you are interested in Clarence you must EMAIL or call us for required adoption questionnaire and one will be emailed back to you (email link for our rescue is at the bottom of Clarence's page). If you are a renter, please have a letter ready at time of adoption from your landlord giving you permission to have a dog. If you already have a dog then it must state you can have more than one dog. Also, it is our policy to not place our small rescue dogs and puppies into homes with large breed dogs but this is on a case by case basis. All of our adoptions are in person so if you are unable to come to Isleton, California for an adoption we will not be able to assist you in adopting one of our rescue dogs.     Winkie is a 1 year old beautiful Charcoal and Tan Yorkie/Shih Tzu Mix who weighs 11 pounds. When Winkie came into the shelter he was immediately taken to the vet because his front leg was in bad shape and then he was immediately put into foster care until rescue was found. Winkie was flown from to the airport close to our rescue by a Pilot n Paws volunteer so Winkie could get the medical help he needed. Our vet and an orthopedic specialist both agreed that amputation was the only thing that could be done. It appears when Winkie was a very young puppy someone cruelly put a rubberband very tight around his left front leg which unfortunately ... (Read More)made the bone evaporate. Since Winkie hadn't had use of his leg for a very long time he doesn't miss it and acts like all dogs should only have 3 legs. Winkie is the sweetest little love boy and is now ready for a loving forever home of his own. He is a happy playful little guy who loves to play with other dogs his size and would be fine in a home with another small dog.     Maycee is a 3 1/2 month old beautiful White with a Tri-color head and a spot of Tri-color on her back Papillon puppy mix who weighs 7 pounds. This darling little girl is in our rescue because she ended up in the shelter and no one came to collect her so rescue was called. Maycee is a very sweet playful happy little girl who loves to play with other small puppies and her toys. Maycee will do well in a home with children who are 10 years old and older or with a retired person or couple who have lots of time to spoil this darling little girl. Maycee is doing very well at her foster home using newspapers to potty on in her puppy area but she ... (Read More)is by no means potty trained and will need continued training in her new loving forever homes. We like our rescue dogs and puppies to be placed into homes where someone is home during the day and consideration will be given to those homes first. All of PJ's Small Dog Rescue puppies and dogs are indoor dogs with outside potty and play privileges. Please click on our name PJ's Small Dog Rescue at he bottom of Maycee's page for further information about our rescue, policies and fees. If you are interested in Maycee you must EMAIL us for required adoption questionnaire and one will be emailed back to you (email link for our rescue is at the bottom of Maycee's page). If you are a renter, please have a letter ready at time of adoption from your landlord giving you permission to have a dog. If you already have a dog then it must state you can have more than one dog.
